Lifelong Memphian, professor, TN state senator, and father, Lee Harris ran for Shelby County Mayor as the Democratic front runner. Senator Harris needed a top to bottom digital strategy for the campaign including brand development. Our strategy focused around local issues and current events told from a citizen-politician perspective. The primary election was in May 2018 and the general election was in August. (Update: we won & were hailed for our digital strategy)
In order to reinforce the image of a bold modern candidate, we incorporated blocked text and cool blue gradients. Messages were a blend of factual and aspirational to illustrate that Senator Harris was creating change in role as state senator while also looking to the future.
An essential part of the campaign strategy was to create tangible assets that could utilized physically and digitally to garner support, volunteer signups, and donations from varying demographics.
This went beyond the website to include sharable platform graphics, signage, social media ads, merchandise, lapel pins, and more.
